How to choose

Choosing an under-sink drinking water system

For drinking water the goal is clean, great-tasting water at the tap — with PFAS, lead, and chlorine removed. Reverse osmosis takes them out; an optional remineralization stage adds back the calcium and magnesium that give RO water its taste.

Do you want remineralized water? Most people prefer the taste of remineralized RO for drinking and coffee. If you also fill an aquarium or want pure 0-TDS water, choose a system without remineralization.

Check pressure and space. Typical homes (40–80 psi) run a standard system; low-pressure homes benefit from a booster pump. Make sure there’s room under the sink for the housings and storage tank.
